We get questions about our pricing system pretty regularly, and we totally understand why — it's a bit different from buying a package off a grocery store shelf.

Why We Can't Set Flat Prices

When you buy chicken at a grocery store, you get to grab the exact weight of chicken or other meat. We try to keep our package size consistent and based on the animals weight the size of the cut will change.

How Our System Works

  1. You place your order — we take a card authorization for the estimated total
  2. We weigh everything and update your order with actual weights
  3. We capture the final amount based on actual weight
  4. You get a confirmation email with the final breakdown
  5. You then receive your meat at the point you decided.

Is My Card Charged Twice?

No. The initial authorization is a hold only — your bank reserves the funds, but we don't collect them. When we capture the final amount, the hold is replaced with the actual charge.
